Activities

The Senior Accountant is responsible for the financial reporting, accounting, and analysis of BU activities in conformance with IFRS, Sarbanes-Oxley controls, TotalEnergies company accounting policies and corporate financial reporting requirements. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Foster a collaborative environment that promotes motivation and encourages professional growth beyond current responsibilities.
  • Build strong working relationships with business and finance teams to actively participate in operational and strategic initiatives.
  • Perform month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities, including accruals and financial reviews to ensure timely and accurate reporting.
  • Financial Reporting & Analysis:
    • Reconcile balance sheet accounts.
    • Prepare weekly forecasts and month-end financial reports with variance analysis for Plant Management and corporate stakeholders.
    • Provide ad hoc cost reports and review general ledger postings to support the PROBE report for annual budget planning.
  • Budgeting & Long-Term Planning:
    • Compile and input annual fixed and variable operating budgets into SAP.
    • Prepare long-term cost plans and perform month-end SAP O54 work order settlements and activity revaluations.
  • Ensure monthly operating results, assets, and liabilities are reasonable, justifiable, and compliant with company policies, IFRS, Sarbanes-Oxley, and corporate reporting standards.
  • Partner with FP&A and Business teams to deliver accurate data for forecasting, budgeting, and analytical needs.
  • Act as a subject matter expert and resource for the Shared Services Center (SSC), enhancing their accuracy and efficiency through targeted training and support.
  • Verify the accurate recording of sales, raw material purchases, operating expenses, and other income statement items.
  • Review SSC Manila’s monthly journal entries, reconciliations, and quarterly PBCs for accuracy and timeliness.
  • Continuously improve knowledge of business processes and accounting systems to enhance performance and skill development.

Candidate Profile

Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting; CPA/MBA beneficial.
  • 4 to 7 years of accounting and manufacturing, chemicals, or Petrochemical Industry experience. 

Skills:

  • Strong written, oral communication and interpersonal skills
  • Experience with SAP and Microsoft Office
  • Understanding of IFRS preferred
