Candidate Profile

You are someone who possesses the following experience and credentials:

  • Educated to at least bachelors level or an equivalent in work experience
  • 3+ years’ experience in a project management role, or similar
  • Demonstrable experience and business knowledge from a trading, energy management, or retail energy company, and IT/Technology/Software Project Management Methodologies
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills, experience of working with IT suppliers and contracts, and good business and commercial acumen
  • Formal training and certifications in Project Management is expected, and knowledge of agile methodologies is desirable
  • Certifications in PMP, Six sigma, or other project management certification preferred
  • Familiarity with the design, development and integration of business applications
  • Fluent in English; competency in French advantageous

Activities

Your mission as a Project Manager, Gas & Power Trading IT include: 

  • Plan and manage projects from start to finish according to a phased approach, or manage a portfolio of smaller projects simultaneously
  • Report to a Steering Group and ensure the governance model for the project
  • Report project status, including scope, schedule and budget
  • Maintain a project risk, issue and decision log
  • Perform all relevant project duties
  • Contribute to the Program and Project Management Office (PMO) function for Gas & Power Trading IT
  • Assess risks, assumptions, issues and dependencies (RAID) across the project portfolio
  • Assist in resource planning and allocation
  • Work closely with third party suppliers within the project where relevant and ensure that the supplier contract is executed appropriately
  • Apply the company standards in terms of project methodologies and other IT governance policies and processes
  • Ensure compliance with legal, regulatory and other audit/internal requirements (e.g. Sarbannes-Oxley) are enforced
  • Help to promote a "project" culture within Gas & Power Trading IT and coach team members on project management methodologies 
  • Communicate with relevant managers from within Trading IT and across GRP IT teams
  • Create team reporting around support, tickets, and other KPIs
  • Work closely with other IT/Technology teams within Trading IT


DIMENSION

In this role, you will be responsible the management of a range of different IT projects and other change initiatives within the Gas & Power Trading area, and particularly the contribution to the power transition of the trading companies of TotalEnergies. The IT projects will generally be business and application oriented and will require coordination across a range of teams and markets.

Context & Environment

TotalEnergies Gas & Power Trading (TGP) and its affiliates are expanding and developing quickly in support of the company’s transition to power.  Most notably, the acquisition of a range of energy assets, from renewable sources such as wind and solar, to batteries and CCGT’s.  For TGP, this implies significant growth in trading volumes, a larger geographical footprint and an urgency for process automation, which has many implications for IT.


PURPOSES

Be responsible for internal and external projects from start to finish. Help with planning, scoping, reporting status, schedule, and budget. Maintain documentation of project risk, issues, and decision log. Coordinate with various teams, manage resources, and ensure compliance with company standards and regulatory requirements.
