TotalEnergies Gas and Power ltd (TGP) is responsible for the development and the management of a portfolio of commercial outlets for natural gas, natural gas liquids, shale gas, liquefied natural gas, power, renewables generation, emissions certificates, and dry bulk products in Europe, the United States and Asia. TGP helps to ensure growth and profitability in a dynamic market and to reach the objective to secure 100 GW of renewable production capacity by 2030 and become top 5 renewable producer.

The position holder works within the Operational Risk department and interacts with all the trading organization. The fast-paced trading environment requires the jobholder to be able to work autonomously and within the team. Position requires daily interaction with other departments within the organization notably Front Office, Origination, Operations, Trading support functions, Finance and Compliance. Attention to be given to Regulations, Industry and contractual deadlines have been respected, requiring good ability to plan and work under time pressure.

Activities

The jobholder works within a Trading Support function and must be able to work effectively in a dynamic and open environment.

Main activities: 

    Support the advancement of anomaly detection in the ETRM by utilizing available internal tools or developing an algorithm to verify the accuracy of transactions entered in the ETRM, using historical trades and market data as references

    Contribute to the design and deployment of automation and AI solutions for Trading Support, identifying innovative opportunities to improve project efficiency

    Propose and develop alternative AI solutions to historical risk control processes

    Support the standardization of AI package and catalogue 

    Ensure project documentation and methodologies are fully formalized, maintained, and kept up to date

    Review Non regression testing automation project with a view of proposing an UAT algorithm and Business UAT protocols to improve tests and time to markets 

    Assist the team in analysing risk events and perform forensic and root cause analysis 



Purpose:

    Responsible for the development of Proof of Concept Tools & Algorithm supporting Operational Risk management 

    Accurate and timely management of all projects and their respective deadlines 

    Promote the Operational risk approach, transparency and risk management within the organization

    Contribute to reducing risks of loss linked to trading operations by leveraging process improvements

    Effective communication with numerous departments on change management

Candidate Profile

    Undergraduate degree in mathematics, engineering or business-related major

    Prove experience in optimization algorithm development

    Strong analytical capabilities, with proficiency in coding languages (python mandatory) and initial experience in developing AI‑driven tools 

    First experience with Microsoft Power platform is a plus (Power Automate, Power Bi, Power Apps)

    Demonstrate strong autonomy and solid communication skills 

    Technical context: Data processing, Python, GEN AI, Claude Code, Codex, Databricks, Alteryx

Tripartite agreement is mandatory
