Context & Environment

  • TotalEnergies, through TEPMA‑1, operates the Area‑1 offshore block in Mozambique, one of the world’s largest Gas resource bases.
  • The Geosciences & Reserves team manages the subsurface development of ~ 65 Tscf of recoverable gas across several phases of LNG development contributing to the company’s strategic growth in LNG.
  • The role requires strong engagement in a multidisciplinary and cross‑functional environment, with regular interaction with drilling, subsurface, engineering, specialty services, and business teams.

Activities

Geosciences and Reservoir Integration

  • Take part on the full-cycle exploitation and integration of geosciences data (seismic interpretation, reservoir characterization, well data) for Area1 fields
  • Participate to the transverse geoscience studies including geological interpretation based on seismic and well data, field synthesis and Integration to the geological modeling.

Field Development & Subsurface Uncertainty Management

  • In a greenfield development context, identify, quantify, and rank subsurface uncertainties and propose mitigation strategies.
  • Recommend and follow up geosciences studies and acquisitions to optimize field development and de‑risk future phases.

Operational Support & Drilling Exposure

  • Contribute to well Preparation and provide support during drilling operations, integrating real-time and post well results into reservoir understanding.
  • Work in close collaboration with drilling engineers and other geoscientists to ensure safe, optimal well placement and execution.

Candidate Profile

Education

  • Master’s degree (MSc or equivalent) in Geosciences or a related Earth Sciences discipline.

Experience

  • Minimum 3 years of relevant professional experience in subsurface, geoscience, or reservoir-related roles.

Key Competencies

  • Strong multidisciplinary integration skills, with the ability to synthesize complex datasets and contribute effectively to reservoir understanding and modeling.
  • Self-driven, well-organized, and collaborative, with the ability to perform in fast‑paced development and operational environments.
  • Excellent communication skills;

Additional Information

As a Geoscientist within the MZLNG Geosciences Team, you will take part on delivering one of TotalEnergies’ flagship LNG developments. Working in a highly multidisciplinary environment, you will collaborate closely with other geoscientists, petrophysicists, reservoir engineers, drilling teams, and specialty services to support the development of ~ 65 Tscf of recoverable natural gas across multiple worldclass fields.

You will be engaged in transverse geoscience subjects spanning the Interpretation and integration of subsurface datasets (seismic, well data etc..)  ensuring reconciliation and full exploitation of the data for field evaluations, development planning, operational decisions, and reservoir models.

TotalEnergies values diversity, promotes individual growth and offers equal opportunity careers.
