Context & Environment

Ratawi is an onshore field, in a remote area circa 60-90 minutes by land transportation from Basra city. 53 legacy wells already exist. The field produces light or heavy oil from several reservoirs with presence of CO2 and H2S. The major challenges for this new affiliate are to ensure a smooth operatorship transition and to develop TotalEnergies culture within the Drilling & Wells team

Main job responsibilities

HSE & REGULATORY

  • Adopt and demonstrate exemplarity towards HSE rules with associated enforcement and control within his area of responsibility.
  • Prevent major incidents (blow out, loss of asset, wells integrity issues) through detailed and reliable engineering studies
  • Actively participate in Company safety awareness and initiative schemes

AGUP DRILLING/INTERVENTION CAMPAIGN

  • Participate to the Wells Statement of Requirements (Well SOR) meetings and ensure all hazards, specific data and technical requirements related to Completion & Intervention are clearly identified and properly captured.
  • Prepare detailed Completion programs, based on the approved Well SOR, and in compliance with TotalEnergies referential and best practices. 
  • Prepare and participate to ‘Well on Paper’ and other operational kick off meeting exercises.
  • In coordination with QAQC team and Well Superintendent, ensure completion (sub-assemblies) equipment are prepared in compliance with TotalEnergies referential and industry best practices. 
  • Assist the Superintendents during completion periods and ensure all lessons learned are properly captured, documented and mitigations implemented in future drilling programs.
  • Prepare and issue End of Well / Intervention Reports.
  • Contribute to the Drilling Improvement Process for completion, capturing lessons learned and improvement initiatives for future operations. 
  • Participate to risk assessments on operational options, well remediation and well integrity situations.
  • Contribute to the preparation derogation and SIMOPS dossiers process. 
  • Assist the Well Construction team in the preparation of various budget exercises deliverables and wells AFE’s.
  • Follow up well intervention & completion contracts.
  • Prepare Service Quality Meetings with vendors.
  • Follow-up of Completion hardware consumables and stock throughout the supply chain process.

Candidate Profile

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelors or Masters in Petroleum ENgineering or related field
  • The job holder should preferably have 2 years of experience in an operational position (Completion operations + light & heavy rig-less intervention / workover operations). Knowledge of Wellview and Wellcat is a plus.
  • Well control certificate (IWCF or IADC).
  • Dynamic, proactive, very organized and detail oriented.
  • Fluent in English, fluency in Arabic an added advantage.

  • Prepare and follow up completion operations of AGUP Phase #1 drilling campaign
  • Perform all required detailed completion engineering.
  • Contribute to ensuring that well delivery targets are met
  • Follow up Completion related contracts and equipment stock
