Activities

  • Manage project development budgets, project timing/planning and risks assessment
  • Drive the progress of each project by outlining & prioritizing key work streams, leading all necessary internal & external steps in the process
  • Lead internal and external project meetings for sophisticated F500 and large public agency customers from contract execution to NTP
  • Negotiate and execute contract changes with customers pre-NTP
  • Intimate knowledge and ability to follow closely the renewable energy power market trends including changing technologies, regulations, and regulatory financial incentives
  • Lead and coordinate development activities for assigned pipeline projects
  • Identify pre-construction related issues prior to obtaining the building permit
  • Oversee local, state, and federal environmental permitting processes
  • Initiate, coordinate and interpret all interconnection activities
  • Lead and facilitate the relationship with landowners (land/title activities) and other external stakeholders included but not limited to permit agencies and utilities
  • Manage consultants - including but not limited to environmental, biological, engineering - and contract negotiation and execution
  • Facilitate contracting for pre-construction activities such as preliminary geotechnical and engineering
  • Liaise with TEDGUS technical team to optimize project development: layout, preparation of EPC and construction...
  • Collaborate efforts with Project Managers and EPC contractors on development deliverables and construction timelines
  • Act as a clearinghouse for all development-related questions from internal and external stakeholders
  • Manage the development and vetting of financial models and assumptions
  • Prepare monthly project progress reports for senior management
  • Obtain internal approvals as needed
  • Participate in project handover to Construction
  • Assist in monitoring, evaluating, and optimizing the development pipeline
  • Assist in developing competitive offtake pricing and competitive analysis (when applicable)
  • Assist in assessing new development opportunities (greenfield sites and potential acquisitions), and working with co-developers to develop profitable opportunities
  • Advise Land Acquisition Specialists on greenfield targets and negotiations to ensure financeable lease/purchase options and site control agreements with landowners. As needed, contract and supervise local land agents.
  • Coordinate the preparation of all materials for project finance and sell-down activities

Candidate Profile

Assocaite Director, Development

Location: San Francisco, CA

What You Will Bring:


  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Engineering, or related discipline required
  • 5-7  years of experience in land development, entitlement, permitting and interconnection of large scale solar and BESS  projects
  • Knowledge of environmental regulations, governmental rules, incentives and market trends that impact project development in CAISO, ERCOT, PJM and other target markets
  • Experience negotiating and managing commercial project agreements including MSAs, PPAs, EPCs, LOIs, lease/tolling agreements and O&M contracts 
  • Solid oral, written and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to take initiatives and work well within a team
  • Strong communication skills and ability to summarize complex issues and convey information to enable efficient decision making, and experience presenting to diverse audiences including but not limited to management, coworkers, customers, vendors, contractors and community members.
  • Subject matter expertise (e.g., real estate, finance, environmental, permitting, tax abatements) and Project Management Professional certification highly valued
  • Strong analytical skills with attention to details
  • Ability to quickly work into new tasks and accommodate a dynamic environment
  • Willingness to travel 20-30% as needed to assure the project's completion on time and within budget
  • Experience and expertise with MS Office (word, excel), MS Project and PowerPoint.
