Kontext & Umgebung

TotalEnergies has established its European trading hub in Geneva, bringing together large multidisciplinary teams across trading activities, including TotalEnergies Trading & Shipping (T&S) and TotalEnergies Gas & Power (TGP).

TGP is the trading arm of TotalEnergies for low‑carbon energies, focusing primarily on natural gas, LNG and power. The business operates in highly dynamic markets shaped by price volatility, supply–demand imbalances, evolving climate policies, changes in the energy mix and the rapid development of new energy technologies. These trends require continuous adaptation, innovation and operational excellence.

Within this environment, TGP plays a critical role in optimizing the Group’s gas and power portfolios across European and global markets, ensuring competitiveness and supporting TotalEnergies in its strategic ambition to achieve carbon neutrality by 2050.

The Asset Dispatch Operations Engineer will operate at the heart of this transformation, contributing to the reliable dispatch and control of a growing portfolio of renewable and flexible assets. The role is central to enabling safe real‑time operations, market compliance and the continued expansion of TotalEnergies’ power activities.

Aktivitäten

In this role, you will contribute to the development of a profitable model in power, aiming for net power production of over 100 TWh by 2030, thanks to a competitive portfolio of renewable assets (solar and on- and offshore wind) and flexible facilities (CCGTs, energy storage).

This position owns the asset dispatch and control layer, as well as the integration with market operators and TSOs/ISOs, using various Asset Dispatch as core platforms (esp. Aspentech DGM solution).

Beyond providing 24/7 operational support, you will be responsible for the technical correctness, evolution, and long-term reliability of these Asset Dispatch solutions.

You will be a designated expert on how assets are dispatched and controlled in real time, how market instructions and system operator signals are integrated and executed and on how the Asset Dispatch solutions must be configured to reflect operational and regulatory requirements.

You are expected to actively extend, adapt, and improve the Asset Dispatch solutions as the asset portfolio, market rules, and regulatory landscape evolve.

Finally, to support the continued expansion of the Gas and Power business, and particularly TotalEnergies transition to Power, you will be expected to contribute to a significant change program currently in-progress.

You will report to the Team Leader for Asset Control & Management, Gas & Power Trading IT.
