You will be responsible for developing new third-party business in South Europe, with a particular focus on Italy and Spain, with a target P&L of at least $5 million per annum. This includes originating profitable new business from, gas supply contracts, portfolio optimisation, accessing flexibility, credit structures, supporting wider TotalEnergies activities in South Europe, including the recently announced JV with EPH and other types of gas origination - from stakeholder engagement through to contract completion and delivery.
The role requires close collaboration with gas and LNG traders, trading support teams, legal, credit, compliance, and senior management to define and implement the South Europe gas origination strategy in alignment with the broader TGP and GRP objectives. Success in this role will rely on your ability to foster seamless communication and collaboration across all these teams and functions.

The key focus markets in South Europe for the role will be Italy and Spain. In addition the scope of the role will also involve origination in connected countries including Austria and other south-east Europe gas markets, including Greece.
You will be also representing TGP at external events, including conferences and industry meetings, and act as a key contributor to the Geneva based Origination team.

Aktivitäten

TGP’s environment encompasses energy commodities handled by Trading Gas and Trading Power: principally natural gas, LNG, power and emissions.

The role operates within a changing (both from a market and regulatory aspects) environment typical of the energy environment. The jobholder will support the TGP Gas Origination team to identify and propose the priorities for the Trading division from which the agenda is set for the Group for this element of our Commitment to Better Energy.


Your Main Responsibilities 

  • Lead originator for South Europe gas origination.
  • Define and implement TGP’s gas origination strategy in South Europe.
  • Identify priority markets, counterparties and deal structures.
  • Deliver profitable origination deals in collaboration with gas and LNG traders, including:
    • Gas supply (hedging and financing agreements)
    • Gas demand in target markets, including CCGT assets and customer portfolios
    • Flexibility 
    • Portfolio optimisation and LNG replacement optionality at local VTPs
    • Access to physical and virtual flexibility
    • Credit structures such as pre-payments
    • Market and infrastructure access arrangements
    • Structured and financial products
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with counterparties to enhance access to opportunities and market intelligence.
  • Represent TGP in the gas wholesale trading community.
  • Support origination activities in other markets when needed

  • Contribute to the safe and effective functioning of the team.

Profil der Bewerberin/des Bewerbers

  • You hold a degree in engineering, finance or similar.
  • You have minimum 10 years of experience working in energy trading including a successful experience in gas origination in South Europe.
  • You have proven track record of delivering strong and consistent P&L.
  • You have strong external network in the South Europe gas and power industry.
  • You have in-depth knowledge of regional gas markets and regulatory frameworks.
  • You have experience working closely with trading desks.
  • You have strong project management, and negotiation skills.
  • You are forward-looking, self-motivated, and highly collaborative.
