Join our affiliate TotalEnergies in Copenhaguen to work with the team of the Maersk McKinney Moller Center (MMMCZCS) !

MMMCZCS is an independent research and development Center, located in Copenhagen that seeks to accelerate the transition to a net-zero future for the marine industry. TotalEnergies is one of the 24 strategic partners of the MMMCZCS since 2021.

As a shipping decarbonization engineer, you will be attached, for this VIE mission, to the Energy & Fuels team to participate in the Center's low carbon fuel projects. You will be supervised by one of our senior TotalEnergies specialists, seconded to the MMMCZCS. 

Your main missions will be : 

- Support the MMMCZCS biofuels team in the transition to zero greenhouse gas emissions for shipping. 

- Participate in the identification of processes related to the production of low cabon fuels for maritime applications. 

- Identify, qualify and quantify the resources required for the production of marine low carbon fuels (availability, characteristics, distribution and cost). 

- Identify, qualify and quantify potential barriers to the production of marine low carbon fuels and their associated challenges.

- Support all MMMCZCS strategic partners and the various TotalEnergies divisions in understanding the technical, economic and competitive issues related to the production and use of low carbon fuels for maritime transport. 

- Analyze the results and use them to update the economic and roadmap models of MMMCZCS and TotalEnergies. 

- Take part in internal meetings every two weeks to report on the progress of studies at the Center. 

- Work as part of an interdisciplinary and international team across the entire shipping value chain.


Profil der Bewerberin/des Bewerbers

Expected qualifications:

  • Engineering degree in chemistry or refining processes

Expected profile:
  • Knowledge of fuel properties and manufacturing processes 
  • Ability to adapt easily to change and a dynamic environment 
  • Collaborative spirit, ability to share knowledge and absorb the knowledge and contributions of others
  • Ability to take initiative, ability to work independently   
  • Curious mind, thirst for knowledge and  willingness to expand skills into new areas


Technical skills:

  • Knowledge of processes related to biofuel production processes (bio-oils and bio-diesels) 
  • Knowledge of fuel properties, characterization and physico-chemical analysis 
  • Knowledge of processes and refining process economics 
  • Knowledge of heat & mass balance of refining processes


Computing skills:

  • Microsoft office 365 (PowerPoint, Excel, Word)

Languages:

  • English: level C1
  • French: level C1
