Long Term Plan 

  • To provide financial and administration services to TotalEnergies Marketing Namibia in order to ensure maximum financial controls , adherence to company financial policies / procedures and regulations , analyze / implement measures to manage operating costs/expenses in order to increase the company’s profitability , as well as ensure effective financial reporting .

 

Budgeting

  • Co-ordinate and supervise the collation of inputs from business in order to construct affiliate annual budget. 

Produce, validate and present the documents which synthesize the budget and will be used as a reference during the year.

Other Responsibilities/Work Activities

  • Total Exploration and Production activities started in 2021 in Namibia. Responsible for support and guidance on financial issue to get the activity up and running.
  • Develop and implement tools to optimize financial reporting (indicators, Dashboard, business reviews, WCR, LTP etc.)
  • Ensure compliance to reporting guideline and procedures of Total Group
  • Monthly Management accounts applicable reports to the MD and Head Office, plus explain abnormalities.
  • Analyze & report monthly performance of the affiliate’s business activities
  • Facilitate both internal and external Audits on controls and procedures as well as closure of findings
  • Responsible for the Financial Reporting of the affiliate (including expenses, volumes, Income, Margins etc )
  • Study all deviations from the plan and advise the MD as well as relevant Line Managers accordingly.
  • Support the planning team with commentary on the evolution of WCR & Investments
  • Prepare commentaries for affiliate business activities & present to MANCOM during the business reviews/ COMPERF
  • Monitor/Report the fixed costs of the affiliate & assist operational teams realize savings initiatives (to remain within the budget).
  • Responsible for providing any other financial key figures of the affiliate activities as requested
  • Monitor on a daily basis the postings related to the activity to ensure consistent treatment and pro-active error correction.
  • Participate in the evolution of information systems
  • Distribute to operation teams’ results, up to operating income
  • Ensure the organization and coordination of financial activities within the team.
  • Ensure proper training, distribution of information and coordination of the controlling team (especially system processing)
  • Ensure Company compliance to all financial legislations i.e tax etc.
  • Managing and supervise credits compliances and meet credit targets (together with Account Receivable Manager)
  • Assist in preparation of board papers, Business Review and on request attend board meetings.
  • Control of GR/lR on all transactions for Total Namibia.
  • Advise and assist Namibia operation teams on stock movement/management/valuation and gains and losses analysis.
  •  Interpret and understand the product purchases pricing mechanism.
  • Assisting/giving support to the tax team in RSA regarding all Total Namibia tax matters i.e. tax return submissions, tax payments, tax audits, liaising with Tax Authorities, obtaining tax clearance certificates, obtaining tax statements from Tax Authorities e.t.c.
  • Together with MD (and supported by TSA HR support team) assist with General HR Administration at the affiliate level.

Participate in all HSEQ activities of Total Namibia and ensure that the team do the same i.e Near misses, HSEQ tool Box talk and Golden rules exercises

Profil der Bewerberin/des Bewerbers

The incumbent of this position would possess the following:


Bachelor Commerce degree in Management accounting plus/ International CIMA qualification. 

Minimum of 10 years related business experience.  

Knowledge and understanding of Petroleum Industry (i.e regulations, pricing structure, streams and products). 

Knowledge of Exploration & Production operations and accounting.

Advanced accounting knowledge. 

Knowledge of Total Group Financial Systems and Reporting.

Working knowledge of the SAP/Harmonie system and good personal computer skills (especially Excel, word &Power point) 

Key competencies include good interpersonal skills,  

  • Analytical ability and attention to detail 
  • Ability to work under pressure, long hours (might include weekends and public holidays ) in order to meet tight deadlines 
  • Reliable, Influential, Self-Starter, Confidentiality, Accuracy. 
  • Staff Management and Team leader absolutely essential.  
  • English is the working language/mode of communication
