Aktivitäten

The Manager Indirect Tax - Motor Fuels role offers an opportunity to join our dynamic Indirect Tax team. Our fast-paced, collaborative environment will utilize your expertise in motor fuel and sales/use tax within the oil & gas, and renewable energy sectors. 


Key Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with trading groups to review the current motor fuel processes, including tax determination and compliance and make improvements drive efficiencies.
  • Ensure accurate calculation and reporting of state and local tax liabilities in accordance with relevant tax laws and regulations.
  • Collaborate with third-party audit support teams to ensure accurate reporting and maximize potential audit refunds.
  • Oversee the excise tax compliance process by compiling data for a third-party vendor responsible for preparing the returns. Ensure the timely and accurate filing of these returns by managing the relationship with the vendor and supervising the data compilation.
  • Guarantee that the system supports compliance, enhances efficiency, and minimizes tax exposure. Identify and implement indirect tax planning opportunities within the ERP framework.
  • Help manage and coordinate the efforts of the indirect tax team. Provide guidance, mentorship, and professional development to ensure high performance and effective tax compliance.
  • Lead/support the excise tax audits, making sure we are learning from all audit findings, and applying those learnings to current processes.

Profil der Bewerberin/des Bewerbers

Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business, or Finance (minimum requirement).
  • Experience with Big 4 firms in VAT and Excise Duty is a plus.
  • Minimum 10 years of end-to-end Sales and Use Tax (SUT) experience in an integrated oil and gas company and/or the energy sector.
  • Strong background in motor fuel excise tax and SUT compliance.

Skills

  • Proficient in SAP, Thomson Reuters OneSource, and Vertex.
  • Proven ability to implement VAT strategies, manage government relationships, and deliver in-house training for the Indirect Tax team and business stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical skills with deep expertise in indirect tax analysis.
  • Collaborative team player who fosters alignment and commitment across the Indirect Tax organization and beyond.
  • Self-motivated, enthusiastic, and innovative with a passion for performance and problem-solving.
