Profil der Bewerberin/des Bewerbers

Minimum Master's Degree in environment & ecotoxicology. A PhD in the domain (extended to hydrobiology, environmental toxicity) would be a plus
Minimum 5 years’ experience in the field of environment and ecotoxicology
A good knowledge of the oil industry and an experience in the field, projects and/or operations would be a plus.
Fluency in French and English is mandatory.

Aktivitäten

  • Steering the deployment and implementation of the methodology for assessing the environmental risks associated with discharges of liquid effluents into the sea from oil and gas installations and ensuring its sustainability, and coordinating the development of action plans to reduce these risks.
  • Carrying out or coordinating 3D modelling studies of discharges of liquid effluents and drill cuttings into the marine environment.
  • Assisting carbon dioxide or hydrogen storage Projects to identify the environmental risks associated with their effluent discharges.
  • Advising the concerned entities on the selection of chemical products based on criteria and thresholds for toxicity, bioaccumulation and biodegradability defined in international regulations and recommendations.
  • Establishing the freshwater usages with onshore affiliates.
  • Assisting Projects in setting up environmental monitoring campaigns, as and when required.
  • Ensuring the quality control of the environmental reporting process especially on "Water" data reported by subsidiaries and contributing to internal and external reporting to extra-financial rating agencies.
  • Capitalizing on and disseminating internal knowledge and practices via environmental training courses and helping to update the Company's referential.
  • Contributing to cross-functional "Water" Projects as the branch's representative and by participating in the definition of strategic guidelines (public commitments, effluent management and freshwater abstraction strategy, etc.) and R&D projects.
  • Representing TotalEnergies on external working groups (IOGP, etc.).

In order to help to manage efficiently operations from Exploration-Production Branch (EP) and its long-term risks, we are recruiting an Environment Ecotoxicologist Engineer M/F within the HSE/EP Department.

This position requires a good understanding of the environmental stakes associated with industrial activities, specially the fate and effects of substances discharged into the environment and their associated toxicity, mastery of methods for assessing risks of substances/discharges to the environment, knowledge of key regulatory texts and international recommendations, as well as a good knowledge of the biodiversity of ecosystems mainly aquatic ones and of the monitoring the quality of these environments. The position is based in Pau in Pyrénées- Atlantiques region.
