Step into a pivotal role at TotalEnergies as an Interconnection Manager, where you’ll help shape the future of renewable energy across the U.S. power grid. In this dynamic position, you’ll lead the full lifecycle of transmission and interconnection strategy for a diverse portfolio of solar, wind, hybrid, load, and standalone storage projects—working at the cutting edge of the energy transition.

You’ll drive critical decision‑making by performing deep‑dive due diligence on project acquisitions, evaluating queue position risks, and steering projects through complex ISO/RTO interconnection cycles. Based in Texas and reporting directly to the Director of Transmission & Interconnection, you’ll serve as a key voice in communicating project insights, milestones, and strategic recommendations to internal stakeholders and cross‑functional teams.

Aktivitäten

• Lead and manage interconnection applications and queue positions during the study phases.

• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure all requirements meet grid interconnection standards.

• Provide compliance and technical support, perform routine updates, and ensure the project management database is up-to-date with the latest information.

• Support project’s acquisitions interconnection due diligence for solar, wind, loads, and standalone storage projects.

• Evaluate congestion patterns and basis risk to guide project siting and portfolio strategy.

• Participate in ISO stakeholder processes, meetings, and working groups to stay aligned with queue reforms and changes.

• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local grid codes and regulations.

• Mentor junior engineer(s) and key organizational stakeholders for the different interconnection processes across the US and Canada (Interconnection schedules, milestones, deliverables etc.).

• Build a network of consultants, processes for engaging those partners, and internal databases for interconnection processes, study results, and cost estimates.

• Perform other tasks and takes on additional duties as reasonably assigned.

• Negotiate complex transmission and/or generator interconnection agreements with various transmission service providers across the US and Canada such as IA/ISA/CSA.

Profil der Bewerberin/des Bewerbers

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field; a Master's degree is preferred.

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in interconnection engineering or a related field, specifically in the renewable energy sector.

• Strong knowledge of power systems, grid architecture, and renewable energy technologies.

• Proficiency in using software tools for power system modeling and analysis such as PSS/E, PowerWorld, PSLF, PSCAD, and/or TARA.

• Good working knowledge of the RTO/ISO transmission planning and generation interconnection processes of one or more of the following areas: ERCOT,CAISO, PJM, SPP, MISO, ERCOT, SERC, NYISO, WECC, etc.

• Effective analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills to ensure clear communication internally with other departmental teams.

• Previous experience as a transmission planning, transmission, generation, transmission analyst, or interconnection engineer preferred.

• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines.
