Kontext & Umgebung

Mozambique is undergoing significant socio‑economic and political changes, creating challenges for procurement activities. Imports represent the majority of materials and are highly dependent on foreign suppliers, who often require advance payments and bank guarantees, leading to delays in project execution. The local market is also affected by FOREX scarcity and exchange rate volatility, directly impacting payment timelines. In addition, qualified local suppliers are mainly concentrated in the South, while vendors in the Central and Northern regions often lack the capacity to meet required standards.
