PURPOSES

  • To define, implement and improve tools and methods to measure the performance of PPA &nd short term power US portfolios. 
  • To provide Senior Management with regular and relevant analysis to design and manage a profitable portfolio.

Atividades

Your mission as Portfolio Performance Analyst include:

  • Specify, design and implement mathematical models to handle pricing issues and risk assessment of a portfolio of renewables assets and back test and optimize performance models.
  • Run regular risk analysis of the portfolio, analyze hedging strategies and portfolio effect, and make recommendations to traders and senior Management.
  • Contribute to monitor the P&L and risks of  PPA portfolio, batteries and short term power trading strategies (volume risk, cannibalisation risk, etc ):
  • Develop prototype, pilot IT and test IT tools development
  • Regularly calculate the P&L & risks of the portfolio and analyze its evolution 
  • Contribute to ad hoc studies, investment files and make recommendations on valuation and impact on risks.
  • Develop and maintain an understanding of Trading Power desks businesses and stay up to date regarding their positions and products.
  • Manage IT-related questions (deployment, QA) directly with IT and Trading Systems team (Python / AWS / TFS) and support Trading support function (MO, operations …) with the takeover of tools developed by the team.


DIMENSIONS

TotalEnergies is targeting a portfolio of 100 GW of renewables by 2030 and becoming one of the main players in renewables worldwide. This will be achieved through many investment projects. Trading Power will contribute to this ambition by managing financial and physical power risks of the renewables portfolio on open markets. The Portfolio Performance team aims to support Trading Power in creating a profitable and sustainable portfolio by providing analyses of the profitability and risks of its different businesses (PPA portfolio, batteries and short-term optimisation, etc…).


Within the Portfolio Performance team, the quantitative Analyst will provide Trading Management, traders, and originators with regular analysis on the performance and risks of their portfolio by developing relevant KPIs and tools and making recommendations to increase profitability. The position will be focus on developing quantitative models, analyses and reports for US Trading Power PPA  business.



Perfil do Candidato

You are someone who possesses the following experience and credentials:

  • Degree in Math or Finance or Engineering degree 
  • 3 years of experience in the power energy trading environment or commodity risk management 
  • Ability to work under pressure and proactively 
  • Good communication skills and ability to work on cross-functional topics.
  • Strong modelling and analytical skills with acute attention to details with demonstrable experience in quantitative modelling.
  • Programming skills (Python/ SQL/R) and/or visualization frameworks (PowerBI, Streamlit, etc)
  • Fluent in English, French is a plus.
