Perfil do Candidato

Higher education graduate with a major in economic, in grid operationssor a related field.

 - At least 5 years' experience in electricity grid analysis and design or in a similar analytical role in the energy/power sector.

 - In-depth knowledge about electricity grids (technologies, economic valuation, regulation), in particular in Europe and in the United States of America.   

 - Proficiency in statistical analysis, forecasting techniques and data modelling. Experience of statistical software (such as Python, R or MATLAB) and electricity market modelling software (such as BID3, Plexos or PSO) is an advantage. 

 - Fluent in English and French.

Atividades

The Integrated Power teams are looking for Senior electricity grid economists F/M to provide critical information on the evolution and development of power systems and interconnections, as well as the economics and regulation associated with them, in order to analyze and optimise investment decisions.

 As a Senior electricity grid economist, you will have the following responsibilities:
-Technical and economic analysis of electricity networks: Carry out an in-depth analysis of the electricity network within your scope (EU, USA), including the development dynamics of electricity systems, network connection design and rules, the economics of electricity networks, etc.
 
-Modelling electricity networks: to be a reference in economic analysis of electricity networks (costs and tariffs) and forecasts. Ensuring the consistency of the long-term scenarios designed by the team; constructing hypotheses relating to the development of the network and the capacities of the network and interconnections in different geographical areas (in the EU and the USA).
  
-Analysis and modelling of ancillary services and balancing markets: Constructing coherent hypotheses for the different geographical areas in order to carry out electricity market analyses and provide modelling elements for the valuation of the different electricity assets remunerated by balancing and ancillary services, today and in the long term.
  
-Assets analysis: to support acquisition opportunities lead by M&A teams, or development studies about current projects lead by business development teams, bringing together Company’s expertise, and achieving techno-economic analyses for interconnections.

-Monitoring: Keeping abreast of industry trends, political and economic regulatory developments, lobbying and emerging technologies in the energy sector. Participate in industry conferences, events and regulatory forums.

Market the electricity generated by the Company's renewable assets and optimize their value;  


- Develop and operate the Company's portfolio of flexible power generation assets;  


-Supply B2B and B2C customers and support their decarbonization strategies.

The GRP (Gas, Renewables & Power) branch encompasses TotalEnergies’ activities in the fields of gas, electricity, and renewable energies. It carries the Company’s ambition in low-carbon businesses as well as in energy efficiency sectors.
