Context & Environment

TE H2 S.A. is a company owned by TotalEnergies and EREN, which creates and develops large-scale green hydrogen projects located in reputable sites with exceptional renewable resources, notably in North Africa, Latin America and Australia.

TE H2 S.A.S relies on the skills of its dedicated teams, as well as TotalEnergies' engineering teams, at every stage of project development, deploying their engineering and marketing expertise. Thanks to their inherently low production costs, TE H2's multi-gigawatt green hydrogen projects aim to supply Europe and Asia with reliable, low-carbon energy sources and decarbonized feedstocks in the form of hydrogen or its derivatives (such as ammonia).

Activities

As a Process Engineer – Hydrogen & e-fuels, you will contribute across the entire TE H2 project portfolio, from origination to development phases (ranging from MW to GW scale). Your main responsibilities will include:

  • Developing internal technical solutions in collaboration with:

    • Project development teams for hydrogen, ammonia, methanol, and sustainable aviation fuels (SAF). Project maturity ranges from early-stage business opportunity assessments to advanced development.
    • The Executive Committee (CODIR) for technical and strategic studies.
  • Providing technical support on process blocks such as hydrogen (electrolysis, purification), water treatment, compression, methanol synthesis and distillation, ammonia synthesis, SAF production and refining, CO₂ capture, and more. You will also build technical databases based on supplier and licensor consultations across various technologies.

  • Producing calculation notes and process simulations, either for sub-units or equipment (e.g., distillation, compression) or for complete systems (e.g., hydrogen and carbon dioxide to methanol).

  • Engaging with industrial stakeholders in the green hydrogen value chain.

  • Conducting technical analysis and compliance checks of offers received from contractors or suppliers for hydrogen and derivative projects, and reviewing documentation prepared by subcontractors.

  • Contributing to technology watch and monitoring key players (suppliers, integrators, engineering firms, modeling software) relevant to the projects.

.

Candidate Profile

  • Master’s degree (Bac+5) in engineering (e.g., INP-ENSIACET, ENSIC, IFP) with a specialization in Process Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Thermal Engineering, or Energy Efficiency.

  • Minimum 3 years of experience (5 years preferred), including at least one relevant experience (internships or research projects included) in one or more of the following areas: hydrogen production (steam reforming, water electrolysis), hydrogen derivatives, energy storage, carbon capture (CCUS), biomass conversion, or green processes.

  • Field experience in production or commissioning is a plus.

  • Proficiency in process simulation tools (e.g., Aspen Plus, HYSYS, ProSimPlus) and programming (e.g., VBA, Python, Matlab).

  • Professional fluency in both French and English (written and spoken); Spanish is a plus.

  • Strong interpersonal skills: team spirit, proactivity, adaptability, open-mindedness, and effective communication.
