• TEP BR was selected for Large Taxpayers Group under “Special Tax & Economic Monitoring”;
• Fiscal environment heavy, complicated, and unstable (Expectation for a Brazilian Tax Reform on Income Taxes, Pillar 2, New Transfer Pricing Rules, Implementation of the Tax Reform on Consumption Taxes);
• ERP update (new version of transactions and reports that are key for tax calculation and tax compliance);
• TEPBR is Operator on both Exploration and Production assets;
Job dimensions:
• Affiliate with an average production of 135 kboed, 1,3 G$ RON, 640 M$ Capex per year and 10 G$ CMO (ref. BU2023);
• Assets under different contractual frameworks (Concession - 12 / PSC - 4), covering all stages of the E&P life cycle (Exploration - 9 / Development - 2 / Production - 5) both Operated (6) and Operated by Others (10);
• Ensure and develop a team composed of 2 direct reports (2 Tax Coordinators) + 10 indirect reports (tax assistants, being 4 TTE staff and 6 TAS);
• Number of affiliates: 2 legal entities (Total E&P do Brasil, Total Petróleo & Gás do Brasil) having 8 branches;
• 3 SOX controls to be performed;
Support the Tax Manager in the following activities:
• Define the criteria used to determine the CIT/PIS/COFINS/ICMS/ISS/SPT/Royalties payments;
• Perform studies in view of implementing tax optimizations;
• Define the criteria used to identify, monitor, and compensate the tax credits;
• Define how to properly respond to tax inspections and audits;
• Define the criteria used to fulfil the tax books, files and reports delivered to the Tax Administration (Federal, State and Municipal sphere), in accordance with Brazilian legislations;
• Establish procedures and internal controls for tax routines and ensure that they are in accordance with SOX, audits, antifraud and anti-corruption guidelines;
• Provide support to Finance departments (Accounting; Treasury; B&P; etc) of TTE BR on tax matters;
• Ensure that the Transfer Pricing demonstration meets the local tax requirements and defense files are kept in good order;
• Provide support on tax matters for Budget preparation and LTP exercise;
• Ensure the correctness of inventories for tax purposes;
• Be updated with the tax legislation and jurisprudence and cascade the relevant information to all concerned Stakeholders;
• Assist Customs/Freight Forward activities to ensure compliance with the tax legislation;
• Support the SAP and Mastersaf implementation/alterations;
• Act as focal point for the implementation of the Tax Reform;
Accountabilities:
• Coordinate the team's activities in order to provide the correct information and reports within the deadlines to all stakeholders, notably Finance (Quarterly Closings, PDCs, and other financial events);
• Manager as Coach objective: Coordinate, supervise and mentor/coach tax coordinators, optimizing allocation of work, creating a positive work environment, contributing with staff performance through regular feedback;
• Ensure that the tax team is updated with the changes in the tax legislation and relevant jurisprudence;
• Ensure compliance with Company’s internal policies and procedures;
• Ensure that the Tax payments are done correctly and on time, avoiding penalties and interests;
• Ensure that the impacts caused by the changes in the tax legislation are informed to the concerned stakeholders;
• Assist internal and external stakeholders in all matters regarding corporate taxes and indirect taxes;
• Assess the opportunities to minimize the tax burden of the company;
• Liaise with the Litigation team so as to ensure that the report of tax risks is accurate and complete;
• University degree in Accounting and Law;
• At least 10 years’ experience in Tax Department (prior experience in a Big-4 firm would be a differential);
• Strong experience in the Oil & Gas Business;
• Advanced English;
• Used to work under pressure and with sharp deadlines;
• Managerial and business skills;
• High autonomy;
