TEEP USA is in charge of following up the production performances and the development of 5 oil and gas conventional deep-water assets in the Gulf of Mexico and 2 non-conventional onshore gas shale assets in Southwest Texas. All those assets are operated by others (OBO). The position reports to the Sr Reservoir Engineer within the Subsurface and Development department of TEEP USA.


 As Data Scientist,  your main objectives will be :

1. Developing digital solutions to manage production data received from the operators: 

  •  Ensuring timely delivery of production 
  • Completing proper Quality Control (QC) and gap analysis with forecasted production
  •  Forecasting short term (1 year) production. 


2. Proposing solutions for managing TEEP USA archived data (hard and digital data) with scope of work, planning and costs. 

Your main tasks, under the supervision of the Sr Reservoir Engineer in charge, will be :

  •  Getting familiar with current production reporting and internal forecast processes. 
  •  Improving the existing technical processes relying on developed corporate tools: close collaboration with HQ teams. 
  •  Developing and maintaining an automated process to QC final production data with all the different sources. 
  • Proposing and developing data mining and AI solutions for production monitoring, in particular, automated calculation of downtime and potential.
  • Developing Power BI projects including dashboards for both standard reporting and reservoir monitoring purposes in liaise with corporate tool. 
  • Participating to the development of TEEP USA management dashboards. 
  • Evaluating and developing analytic tools for production forecast (short / mid-term). 
  • Assisting in managing GSR department’s file room as well as overseeing activity at the Consolidated Offsite Storage Facilities.

Candidate Profile

Expected qualifications:

  •  Master’s degree in data science, mathematics, statistics, or a computer-related field, or in an unrelated field with strong background of the aforementioned required skills. 
  • A background in petroleum engineering is a plus.


Technical skills:

  • Knowledge in database management (Access and SQL), 
  • Be a quick learner for implementing and using any commercial tools for data analytics and production monitoring (ARIES, PowerBI, Spotfire, …). 


Computing skills :

  • Strong IT / programming skills (Python, R, SQL, C++, …) 


Languages :

  • English: level C1 
  • French: level B2
