Context & Environment

GGIP is a first-of-its-kind pioneering multi-energy project representing 27 B$ investment over 30 years for TotalEnergies and its partners This project involves; 1.Oil development project (‘AGUP’)to increase current Ratawi field to 210 kbpd .(2) Collection and treatment of 600 MMscf/d of associated gas (‘GMP’) that would otherwise flare, reducing the flaring level in Basra region and provide additional 480 MMscf/d of gas to the national grid and 3,600 tons per day of LPG to supply the Iraqi domestic market. (3) Development of a 1 GW solar power plant (‘SPP’), one of the largest in the Middle East, increasing power capacity in Basra region by more than 30%. (4) Construction of sea water treatment plant of 5 million of water barrels per day (‘CSSP’) to increase South Iraq crude oil production by up to 1 million barrels oil per day and freeing the use of freshwater from rivers and aquifers to preserve irrigation sources for agricultural needs.

Activities

Job responsibilities

  • Lead or participate in Risk Assessment reviews such as, Hazard Identification (HAZID), Hazard and Operability (HAZOP), Technological Risk Assessment (TRA) workshops, Bowties workshops, etc…
  • Contribute to the Affiliate Downgraded Situations and Integrity Threats Risk Assessment.
  • Prepare the Scope of Work (SOW) of the required Safety and Risk studies and technical selection of the specialized contractor.
  • Organize, contribute and supervise the Process Safety and Risks studies required for ensuring that the Risks of the facility are managed to the ALARP level (As Low As Reasonably Practicable).
  • Contribute to Drilling and Wells TRA studies or Risk assessments. 
  • Facilitate technical HSE discussions/reviews, Project Change Management Risk Assessment/ Deviations meetings ensuring resolution of issues to ALARP levels.
  • Assist the Management of Change (MOC) of modifications initiated within the operation by ensuring that any project modifications are designed as per international standards or Company Referential and meet Process Safety Basic requirements.
  • Provide effective technical support and troubleshooting capability to the overall GGIP scope for process and operating integrity during normal production, operations safety issues during equipment/systems maintenance.
  • Support GGIP projects to ensure that safety design studies, risk studies, and technical integrity studies deliverables are consistent and follow Company requirements. 
  • Develop for Ratawi Affiliate and support Projects for the development of bowties, safety critical barriers and elements identification, fitness monitoring plan and performance standards.
  • Monitor Fit for Purpose Status of SECE and assist Field Operation Teams in the quick resolution of Downgraded Situations.
  • Monitor Key performance indicators and provision of regular reporting for Process Safety and Technical Integrity.
  • Participate in Process Safety incident investigations, CTA (cause tree analysis), Action Plans and ensure of their implementation
  • Contribute to SIMOPS preparation and coordination during start up and commissioning phase of the GGIP projects.
  • Regularly Conduct process Safety site audits and safety rounds with 
  • Contribute to the development of the crisis management system of the affiliate by providing input Major Risks Scenarios to the affiliate response plan.
  • Manage engineering documentation such as hazardous area layouts, fire and gas detection layouts, TRA reports, Safety studies.

Candidate Profile

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Process or Mechanical or Civil Engineering
  • Minimum of 5 years professional experience within Process Safety and Technical Integrity discipline .
  •  Professional knowledge in application of Risk Assessment methods
  • In depth knowledge and understanding of Consequence and Risks Simulation Tools like PHAST, Pro 2, or equivalent …
  • Good knowledge of international codes and standards. Knowledge of Oil & Gas specifications.
  • Strong knowledge and practice of HAZOP, HAZID, LOPA, HAZAN, TRA, QRA, BOW TIES, Functional Safety, SIL, Safety Engineering Design: layout, Pressure Protection philosophy detection, ESD, Safety Instrumented System, Active and Passive Fire Fighting.
  • Good teamwork, strongly focused, good analytical and communication skills.
  • Fluent in English.

GGIP (Gas Growth Integrity Project) is located in Southeast of Iraq and consists into 5 different but united projects: a 5million BPD Water Treatment plant (WIP) Water Intake Project, an Oil and gas Field, Artawi, development up to 210 Kbopd (AGUP ph1 then, ph2) Associated Gas Upstream Project associated with AG 25 Project which valorizes the first separation gas stream of AGUP ph1 ; A Gas Midstream Project (GMP) aims at collecting and valorizing flared gas from surrounding upstream fields (Artawi, Majnoon and West-Qurna-2) A solar plant  1,2 GW.

The job holder shall contribute to Process Safety and Technical Integrity activities within the affiliate and with the Projects and, as such, shall liaise permanently with Project teams, Project Process Safety, Package Managers teams, Operation Manager team, Maintenance, and Inspection team, drilling and wells team (functional link +-10p). 

In the framework of Head Quarters(HQ) Technical Integrity reporting the job holder needs to provide input to the Affiliate Technical Integrity reporting to Company Headquarters and provide answers to stakeholders at HQ.
