Context & Environment

The position reports to the Supervisor - Human Resource and acts as a liaison for plant employees for human resource related functions, particularly regarding Company benefits programs, HR records, and special events. 

Manage the site KRONOS Workforce Timekeeper System for hourly personnel

Process payroll for hourly operating personnel

Coordinates and administers the human resources/benefits function for the Carville Site for all exempt, non-exempt and hourly employees.  Remains effectively cross-trained in the job duties of the Community/Recruiting Coordinator.

Activities

This position assists in hiring processes where needed to ensure high-level plant performance, appropriate diversity, and compliance with applicable laws and corporate programs.   

Maintains personnel files and appropriate documentation on Corporate and Site programs and special projects such as Short Term & Long-Term Disability/Family Medical Leave, Workman’s Compensation, Flexible Work Schedules, etc. 

This position is responsible for preparing various HR, payroll and personnel-oriented projects, files and reports.

Responsible for processing the bi-weekly hourly employee payroll

Update and maintain records in the Certification and Training database

Coordinate the Employee Benefits program for the plant to ensure the needs of employees are met on a timely basis.

Acts as employee liaison in resolving benefit issues with Corporate HR and/or insurance companies. 

Assists employees in understanding benefits, enrollment, and modification of benefits. 

Maintain Attendance Program on plant employees to maintain high attendance levels and address and correct individual cases of poor attendance.

Maintain employee records and transactions in SAP.

Coordinate employee events (Family Picnic; Production Awards-Lunches, etc).

Coordinate Gift Certificate Programs

Maintain progressions for hourly personnel.

Candidate Profile

Seeking a candidate with a High School Diploma or G.E.D with minimum 3 years' experience in Human Resources/Payroll or Degree in Business or Human Resources.

Candidate must have interpersonal skills and disposition necessary to openly and freely engage and interact with employees across all levels of the company.

Seeking a candidate local to the Carville, LA area.  No relocation funds are available for this position.
