TotalEnergies Renewables USA currently has offices in San Francisco, Boston, Austin, Houston, and NYC. The anticipated annual salary for this position is $130,000 - $150,000 depending on qualifications, experience and market. The work location for this position is New York City.

Activities

Key Activities:

  • Serve as a trusted resource for the labor and workforce community, informing them about the offshore wind industry and establishing linkages to advance the offshore wind energy workforce.
  • Lead the development and negotiation of Project Labor Agreements (PLA) and Labor Peace Agreements (LPA).
  • Review and analyze collective bargaining agreements (CBAs) and advise the company on obligations.
  • Coordinate with the External Affairs team to build and execute effective communication strategies.
  • Engage with local trades and union organizations to build local partnerships.
  • Collaborate with the labor community to facilitate apprenticeship and labor programs.
  • Develop strategies to increase workforce diversity and support a just transition.
  • Understand and report on offshore wind safety and technical training programs.

About Us:

We’ve secured a 1.3GW offtake contract in New Jersey for 2024 and are gearing up for even more exciting opportunities. If you’re motivated to lay the groundwork for large-scale offshore wind projects and make a positive impact in our community, we want you on our team!

The Role:

As the Labor Relations Lead, you will:

  • Be the point of contact for the projects with labor union and workforce groups.
  • Negotiate labor agreements for the project, including Project Labor Agreements and Labor Peace Agreements.
  • Ensure project compliance with labor and workforce commitments and requirements, including securing tax credit benefits.

What You Will Bring:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in business, labor and industrial relations, or related field.
  • Experience: 10+ years managing labor relations in the construction industry and/or workforce development experience. Knowledge of career training programs and/or experience in the offshore wind industry is a plus.
  • Relationships: Demonstrated relationships with organized labor in New Jersey and New York.
  • Expertise: Extensive knowledge of labor law, collective bargaining laws, and contractual agreements.
  • Skills: Strong project management skills, ability to communicate effectively, and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strategic Thinking: Experience in developing and implementing strategic plans, and in negotiating labor agreements.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Ability to develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholder groups.
