Candidate Profile

Join TotalEnergies Renewables USA, LLC as a Foundations Senior Project Engineer contractor reporting to our NYC office.  This is a new addition to our team as we are strengthening our presence in renewable energies.

This role exists for the Attentive Energy team to achieve critical project milestones in accordance with full transparency in cost forecasts and spend status. The Foundations Senior Project Engineer  is accountable for the definition and the validation of the execution strategy of the foundations, including design dossier.


What You Will Bring:

  • Engineering Degree with at least 15 years’ relevant professional experience
  • At least 10 years’ experience in the offshore wind sector working in a comparable role
  • Knowledge of the technical and safety regulatory landscape including an awareness of the US regulations and understanding of Client and Principal Contractor duties
  • Excellent organization skills with the ability to manage own workload, meet timescales and coordinate several external and internal stakeholders
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to enable effective discussion and transfer of information between, contractors, team members and other stakeholders
  • Fluent in English (written and spoken)
  • The technical skills to understand complex offshore operations and the ability to exchange with and understand subject matter experts
  • Ability to work as a member of a large, multidisciplinary and international team
  • Ability to use Microsoft Office

Activities

  • Working with the foundations package manager, the role involves managing all technical and commercial foundations related aspects (Engineering, Procurement, Construction and Installation) 
  • You will assume the central position in the overall development process and interface with wind turbine OEM, Fabricators, Installation Contractors as well as Certification and Verification Agencies as well as other package managers and team members
  • Leading the foundations package Team, you will lead specialists in the fields of load assessments, geotechnical and structural engineering, transport and installation and other related discipline leads as well as external consultants, designers and Marine contractors through design process and its certification by a third-party Certification Authority
  • Monitoring the design process progress, implements changes and variations to the design in collaboration with stakeholders.
  • Drive continuous improvement and value engineering initiatives
  • Liaise between contractors, staff, and project managers for effective communication, planning and project execution
  • Supplier Coordination: Transferring design and engineering packages to suppliers for efficient execution.
  • Documentation Review: Reviewing suppliers’ documentation, including shop drawings, specifications, and risk assessment method statements.
  • To support on Call for Tenders and development of scopes of work, Develop and maintain engineering specifications and Employer’s Requirements alongside robust scope-split matrices
  • Maintain a close coordination with the permitting team with a strong focus on the requirements from the US regulatory for the performance of the work
  • To support the development of the Attentive Energy safety system in readiness for the construction phase and thereafter ensure that contractor safety plans and performance is effectively managed
  • To ensure robust design decision and change management through market engagement, cost-benefit studies, and risk analysis
  • To prepare status reports and technical information in relation to the package when required and for presentation to both internal and external stakeholders
  • To competently assess and challenge engineering designs, technical reports and associated third parties’ deliverables, ensuring that final outputs are all completed to a high standard
  • Promote a culture of safety, health, and environment
  • To comply with JV governance requirements / management reporting as required.

TotalEnergies Renewables USA currently has offices in San Francisco, Boston, Austin, Houston, and NYC. The anticipated hourly range for this role is $74 -$87 USD based on qualifications, experience, and market.
