Context & Environment

We are looking for a responsible, proactive and detail-oriented Finance Manager to lead the full spectrum of finance operations for Malaysia and Singapore , with a strong focus on local compliance.

This role will serve as the primary finance point of contact for the entities under his/her scope and will collaborate closely with regional and cross-functional teams across APAC. 

This position will be based in Malaysia and will report to the Senior Finance Manager in Singapore. 

Responsibilities include financial accounting, statutory compliance, tax, audit, internal and external reporting.

Position is fixed-term for 2 years


Activities

Financial Operations and Accounting 

  • Ensure accurate and timely closing of monthly financials and reporting to the headquarters
  • Prepare monthly audit schedules and PL by projects with detailed commentary
  • Prepare weekly payment runs
  • Monitor and prepare monthly operational cash flow forecasts
  • Liaise with shared service team in Philippines who supports the purchase to pay and order to cash cycles
  • Assist in project-related matters- including project analysis and data provision to relevant departments
  • Work with local and regional stakeholders on CAPEX and OPEX planning
  • Perform intercompany and intra-group reconciliations and ensure timely booking of transactions
  • Prepare and submit group financial reports for quarterly consolidation (eg. Via Report)
  • Monitor and ensure compliance with internal finance governance policies and processes

Audit and Tax Compliance

  • Lead the end-to-end statutory audit process, including planning, coordination, fieldwork support, and closure
  • Ensure compliance with local tax regulation including preparation and submission of all tax returns (e.g. VAT, withholding tax, annual income tax etc), including review of prior filings where necessary

Projects and Ad-Hoc

  • Provides on-the-ground business support
  • Collaborate with other functions in Malaysia and across the APAC region for any deliverable required
  • Participate in and support regional finance projects and initiatives
  • Undertake ad-hoc assignments as requested by management
  • Implementation of e-invoicing and MBRS filing

Candidate Profile

  • Degree in Accounting or Finance
  • Professional qualification (e.g. CPA) is preferred 
  • 10 years of relevant working experience in accounting firms or multi-national companies with full set experience
  • Hands-on experience of accounting systems and good knowledge of Microsoft Office. Familiar with Microsoft Dynamics Business Central is a strong plus
  • Good knowledge of IFRS/local accounting requirements, Malaysia tax rules and regulations
  • Experience with renewable energy business is preferred
  • Ability to work independently, as well as with the Team and comfortable working in a dynamic and fast-pace environment 
  • Good analytical and communication skills are required, as well as advanced skills in stakeholder relations
  • Good verbal and written proficiency in English and in the local language of administration are required as the role involves a high level of interaction with internal stakeholders
  • Proactive, vigilant and resilient
